About Suffield Events

Suffield Events collects what's happening in Suffield and West Suffield, Connecticut, in one place: town, library, school, and recreation events, plus the fairs, fundraisers, club meetings, business openings, and performances that make this town what it is.

Suffield Events is independently run by a Suffield resident in a personal capacity. It is not affiliated with the Town of Suffield. It is a not-for-profit project, self-funded, with no advertising and no paid placements.

How events get here

We use a three-tier editorial standard:

• Official listings, from the town calendar, boards and commissions, Parks & Recreation, the Senior Center, Kent Memorial Library, and the public schools, are pulled directly and published without a human review step, since they are already official public information.
• Community and public submissions are reviewed by a person before they go live, usually within a day or two.
• Anything unclear, a missing date or venue, a possible duplicate, content that looks commercial or political, or anything outside Suffield, is set aside for a direct decision rather than published automatically.

No publicly submitted event goes live without human review. That's a promise, not a technicality.

Scope

Suffield and West Suffield only, by design. Regional aggregators tend to blend in Enfield, Granby, and Windsor Locks, and that dilutes exactly what makes a hyperlocal calendar useful.
